The first two pictures was taken by the seller in San Jose and as you can see the body was painted with a red primer.
To be sure that there was no bad done body repairs the primer and other layers of paint was removed.
It was absolutely no rust here, but someone had cut off the edges from the rear fenders. The trunk lid had some rust in both of the lower corners. Thats was as the matter a fact the only rust that was found on the outside of the body.
As you can see on the left picture the front fenders, hood, trunk lid and all four doors was removed from the body. On the right picture they all are mounted back again except the front fenders. The body was at this stage allmost ready for the last touch before the paint job.
A continental kit was made by myself and is here mounted just for test. I also made distances to fit between the fenders and the bumper ends.
The car is here towed on a trailer to the auto paint shop for the paint job. The final touch for a great finish was left in the hands of a professional.
The paint job has now been done. The beautiful red color is Ruby red #454 from Volvo.
